# Case Closed > Case Closed is an online multiplayer murder mystery game played in a web browser: a team of one to four detectives follows leads across the fictional noir city of Port Merrow, cracks the codes at locked doors, reads the evidence and names the killer. Solo, or up to four players on separate screens, at home or remote. The first case is free. Made in Canada; prices in CAD. Site: https://playcaseclosed.ca Support: info@playcaseclosed.ca ## What it is - A cooperative detective game for game night with friends, date night at home, virtual team building or a rainy Sunday. Ages 13 and up. - No app: any modern browser. Laptop-first (map, evidence, notebook and team chat side by side); phones and tablets join the same team from a link. - Every case is a murder in Port Merrow, a fictional city of about 2,000 addresses. No real place, person or business appears. - Official cases are written by Case Closed; Creator cases are built by players. ## How it is played - The leader buys a case, creates a team of 1–4 and shares a join code or link. Teammates need no account (up to three guests). Team size locks when the clock starts. A bigger team gets a harder case with more story. - Ride Separate (the default for two or more): each detective has their own part of the briefing, their own leads, their own evidence and their own car; the map, the Case File, the notebook, the chat and the clock are shared. What you find for a teammate reaches them only when you say it. Riding along to a teammate's stop is free. Only the leader can cover an empty seat. - Ride Together: one car, everything on every screen. A solo detective always rides together. - Every scene ends in leads. A place lead is solved by driving there on the map; a code lead is typed at the door it opens. Ciphers, riddles, maps, documents to cross-check, photographs, patterns and more. A lead shows what you have and where it came from, never the method. Some leads are detours; the way back is free. - Hints cost rides, never credits: a method hint (how a lead is cracked; one ride, once per lead; may link a code-breaker site) and a nudge on the case (three rides; three per attempt). Nothing is revealed on its own. - A ride is a drive to a place not yet visited on this attempt; returns are free; a wrong door code costs one ride. Every case has a par. In Ride Separate each car counts its own rides and the team's total is the sum. - Each case has an active-play time limit the leader can pause, and a 30-day deadline from the start; every clock shows in the player's local time. - Score: the answers in the Case File first, then rides against par. Leaderboards are per team size and per ride mode; only a purchase's first attempt is ranked. Staff and test accounts never appear. - A first case opens with a short guided run inside the game. The free training case is about fifteen minutes. - Every team has a private text chat inside the game; nothing in it is graded. The leader can add a voice link (Discord, Meet or similar). - Match: for more than four people, extra teams of up to four play the same case side by side. Groups of 30 or more: the corporate offer. ## Prices (CAD) - 1 credit is about $1 CAD; credits never expire and never turn into cash. - An Official case costs 20–40 credits by stars; a Creator case 5–20 credits. One purchase covers three attempts and a team of up to four. - The training case is free once for a new account. Guests who claim an account get 5 bonus credits. - Subscriptions: monthly $30 CAD with 10 bonus credits a month; annual $200 CAD with 15 bonus credits a month, dripped monthly. Both include every new Official case and the Official back catalogue while subscribed. - Building a case: 50 / 60 / 75 / 95 credits for a 2 / 3 / 4 / 5-star case; creators earn 15 % of every copy sold in credits; the monthly Community pick earns 25 credits. - Refunds only where a documented bug prevented delivery or play. ## Pages - [How to play](https://playcaseclosed.ca/how-to-play): the rules in full. - [FAQ](https://playcaseclosed.ca/faq): playing together, the puzzles, accounts, credits, subscriptions, refunds, attempts, creators, the forum, privacy. - [Case library](https://playcaseclosed.ca/cases): the free training case, this month's Official cases, Creator cases. - [Pricing](https://playcaseclosed.ca/pricing): every price in CAD. - [Creators](https://playcaseclosed.ca/creators): write a brief, get a case, earn credits. - [Teambuilding](https://playcaseclosed.ca/corporate): groups of 30 or more, custom storylines, a host dashboard, quotes in CAD. - [Leaderboards](https://playcaseclosed.ca/leaderboards) - [Privacy Policy](https://playcaseclosed.ca/privacy-policy) · [Terms of Service](https://playcaseclosed.ca/terms-of-service) · [Refund Policy](https://playcaseclosed.ca/refund-policy)
